Bukit Baru Transmigration Village is located at the border of our Thiess Satui mining area. At the village, there is a monthly Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) to provide basic health service for mother and child.

English class at SMK Muhammadiyah 1, Sangatta is a Community Development Program at Thiess-Sangatta Project. It is a students’ mentoring program that held every week on Saturday. The class is conducted by our ESL Trainers with 20 students.

A few weeks ago, National Karate Open Championship was held to win SBY Cup VIII, the event was in North Jakarta Youth Arena (sports hall). South Kalimantan contingent, Tanah Bumbu regency has joined the championship by sending some participants.

BSF - Located at Room A Training Center, TCI - BSF along with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has organized a blood donation on 18 February 2011.

To open the year of 2011, Thiess-Sanggata project held Blood Donation program. The program is one of company’s concerns to its community out of consideration that the program will support Sangatta’s Red Cross in collecting blood to save people in need.

Thiess Balikpapan received the East Kalimantan Education Award 2010 from the East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek during a ceremony held at the Hotel Bumi Senyiur Samarinda on 29 January 2011.

On 22 November 2010, Thiess Melak Project donated donated 25 computers to the surrounding community through the Department of Education of Kutai Barat Regency. The donation will be delivered directly to 25 schools in the regency.

The Moslem Iedul Adha celebration at Satui Project was held on 17 November 2010 at Baitul Makmur Mosque, Bukit baru camp. The celebration was started with praying together led by Ustadz Rofii, the Head of MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) of Satui.

On 15 November 2010, Thies Jakarta held a "Computers for Better Educaton" donation event at Cilincing Sub-District, North Jakarta. The donation was presented by TCI's CEO Roy Olsen to the community through some NGOs involved in children care.

On 20 Oct 2010, Melak Project held a blood donation event for humanity. The donation was held to help the availability of blood at the Harapan Insan Sendawar Hospital. The event successfully produced 85 bags of blood that came from TCI's employees.

For the first time, Thiess Indonesia graduated four female apprentices among 111 graduates of TCI's Apprentice Program Batch 16, consisted of 59 mechanics, 38 electricians and 14 welders. The graduation was held at KNPI Building Balikpapan on 30 Sep 2010.

Located at St. Fransiskus Assisi Sangatta Junior High School, 24 September 2010, TCI Sangatta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prestasi Junior Indonesia, an NGO engaged in the development of students’ entrepreneurial skills.

On 16 September 2010, TCI launched the Computers for Better Education donation at Balikpapan State Islamic School, Tanjung Kelor.

On 28 August 2010 during the holy month of Ramadan, TCI Satui held a Break Fasting event together with orphan kids of Miftahussalam Foundation Islamic Boarding School at Camp Bukit Baru Satui.

Empass wooden bridge is located near Melak mine site connecting Empass village and Bunyut village. The bridge was built by the government and has been a vital public infrastructure used by community and also the main road access to Melak site.

Thiess Satui Project, together with PT. Arutmin Indonesia and Martapura Red Cross held a Blood Donation activity, Thursday, 10 June 2010.?? A total of 103 participants from TCI Satui, PT Arutmin, as well as its subcontractors gathered at Satui Camp.

On 5 May 2010, BSF Community Team with Thiess Management donated an English Laboratory and English textbooks to SDN 005 Manggar Balikpapan. In addition to TCI employees, the event was also attended by the Department of Education and the Local Community.

As part of BSF Community's program, BSF Community Team held a Drug and Alcohol Socialisation to students of four high schools in East Balikpapan Subdistrict. About 200 students participated in the half-day event held on 16 January 2010.
