On 22 November 2010, Thiess Melak Project donated donated 25 computers to the surrounding community through the Department of Education of Kutai Barat Regency. The donation will be delivered directly to 25 schools in the regency, including elementary, junior high and high/vocational schools.

The donation event was held in the main Meeting Room of West Kutai Education Office and was attended by Principals of 25 schools that accept these donations. It is hoped that the donation will help in improving local student's computer skills. The Head of Department of Education welcomed the donation and hoped that Thiess will continue its support to the education at West Kutai Regency.
