TCI Management and the Satui Mine Project Workers Union signed the Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for the period of 2009 to 2011 at Bukit Baru RecHall on 20 November 2009. The agreement was signed by Executive Director Sam Rumende, on behalf of TCI and the Union Chairman, Anwardi, and was witnessed by the Head of Tanah Bumbu's Social Manpower and Transmigration Department, Ir. Sartono, MSi. The signing was also attended by department representatives from the Satui Mine Project, government officials along with other invitees.

Anwardi, Chairman of the Union, said in his opening speech, "This is the fourth CLA signing here at Satui since the alliance with PT. Arutmin in June 2000. Thiess Satui pioneered this movement and was the first to sign a CLA out of all TCI projects." TCI Satui management, represented by the Deputy Project Manager Dedy Halomoan, said that the company is looking forward to working with the Union for the success of all.

Executive Director, Sam Rumende, continued to say, "The CLA is not just an agreement with the Union, but it is a commitment made to all employees who are the most important part of our business with direct interest in the company's success. With the agreement, we look forward to each party creating a more conducive working environment and working
closely to overcome any challenges."
