Thiess Indonesia continues to run a number of programs focussed on the successful development our people into leadership roles across the business. In January 2009, two groups of supervisors from the Thiess' operations at Kaltim Prima Coal Mine, Sangatta, Kalimantan completed a training module on Leadership and Discipline.

The group, each made of six Mining Supervisors, undertook the week-long military-style training at Raider 600 Infantry Battalion Compound in Balikpapan. The leadership boot camps are a fun and challenging program that provides the staff come away more confident, more productive, more in-command and better able to get things done through other people, which enables us to develop highly qualified leaders throughout our mining sites.
