To commemorate National Security Day in Balikpapan, Thiess Indonesian in conjunction with the Balikpapan Police Force held a day of celebration for local security forces. The day involved a number of friendly contests with many of the Balikpapan’s private security departments.

The Thiess Indonesia Security Team was successful in several categories, taking first place in the Marching Competition and third place in the T-Stick Self-Defence Competition. Thiess security officer Muhammad Darwis was chosen as the overall Best Security Officer in the competition.
