MEDIA RELEASE
Suban Phase II Gas Project
May 15, 2008 The contract is scheduled for completion in August 2006. Thiess are responsible for infrastructure engineering, bulk materials procurement and fabrication; and all site construction work. Hyundai are responsible for process design and engineering, and major equipment procurement. Thiess' work represents a 45% share of the consortium contract. Suban Phase 2 is an expansion of the existing Suban Gas Plant, located in South Sumatra, Indonesia. When the project is completed, the Suban Gas Plant capacity will have been increased from its current level of 300MMscfd to 700 MMscfd. The gas will be transported to the Central Gas Plant at Grissik, South Sumatra, for further blending before being sold and transported to the West Java gas market. Facilities for the project include additional wellsite facilities, an additional gas gathering system, expansion of the existing Suban Gas Plant, inlet filters and associated piping at the Grissik Gas Plant plus 44 km of 26-inch gas pipeline looping on the existing Suban Trunkline to Grissik Gas Plant. The facilities also include a permanent camp, office, maintenance facilities and modifications to existing maintenance facilities and buildings. Pipelines (trunkline and gas gathering flowlines) construction will be undertaken by Thiess in joint venture with Nacap. Due to the remote site location, the project challenges will include transportation and logistics, together with construction execution during the wet seasons.
