Thiess Sangatta collaborated with Mandiri Job Training Centre (Balai Latihan Kerja) as part of the sites ongoing contribution and encouragement to education and development of young in the region by donating key tools and technology. Thiess trainers will also provide ongoing support by delivering lessons to students.

Sangatta Project Manager Sjamsi Josal gifted the tools to Kutai Timur Mayor, H. Awang Faroek Ishak, and said, "Thiess's commitment to local communities doesn't end at this inauguration of the Job Training Centre. Many of our support functions from plant, operations, engineering and training will continue to work with the centre and make sure the program continues."
