To commemorate Indonesia's 62nd Independence day, Thiess Indonesia with its client PT Arutmin conducted a number of community activities over a week long period in two villages surrounding the Satui Coal Mine which Thiess operates.

Two key aspects of the program included mass medication and the donation of a school bus for student's transportation in Desa Baru and surroundings. The school bus was handed over to The Chief of Satui Submayor at Perintis Field, Satui Subdistric, Tanah Bumbu. The bus should resolve the current student transportation problem.
