Thiess Indonesia's Senakin Mine Project launched a one month extensive operator training program with the the local community. As part of Thiess' ongoing commitment to local employment and welfare there were a large number of participants selected from four Sub Districts surrounding Senakin Project. At the training, the participants learnt theory and technique to operate CAT 773E on rough and smooth surfaces.

Senakin Project Manager Peter Stregas said, "The program is an ongoing initiative aimed to support human resources development in Senakin. By having the knowledge and skill, it is hoped that the participants have more opportunities to get a job not only in Thiess but also in other companies."

The program also continues to foster positive relations and dialogue between Thiess Indonesia and the community trough collaborative programs that address local needs.
